What inspired you to be a digital marketer, I believe you started as an English teacher on Instagram?
okay…..So I was a teacher in a school and never wanted to limit myself to teaching only at school. So, I thought of starting English coaching on YouTube and someone suggested focusing on Instagram too because it will help in getting more reach to YouTube. And then, when I just had 5000 followers on my Instagram, I got to work with a Spain-based startup. They wanted me to handle their social media account. At that time, I didn't even know what MARKETING was as a career option. I started freelancing and with time I was able to establish myself as the founder of (@JKDigitalMarketingAgency)
What are the challenges you face handling 3 Instagram accounts together because they all are different, one showing you, one showing your profession as a digital marketer, and the other as an English communication coach?
My team and my Husband are the reason for managing all things together. Personally, My husband supports me a lot and Professionally, I have a great team that I'm grateful to have. They support me a lot. My husband always encourages me to do more and stand with me in all situations
What are the achievements you achieved and what are the new goals?
I think professional goals are something that keeps getting added and I believe in taking one step at a time. Set a goal, and fulfill it. I strongly believe in implementation. When it comes to achievements, I've been a speaker on Josh Talks, recently got a Top Voice Batch on LinkedIn, and got invited to various creator and entrepreneurship events as a panel guest. These small achievements make me grateful and encourage me to keep working hard.
How did your parents react when you told them about your career on Instagram and YouTube?
Okay…so I believe we play a major role in making our parents understand what we do. Initially, my parents didn't understand what digital marketing was and thought that it was not a stable career option plus I switched my career. So that was a difficult thing to explain to them. I believe in making your parents understand, “YOU NEED TO INVOLVE THEM WITH YOU”. Whenever I start something new, What I used to do was write down all the questions they could ask me and how I could answer them logically (laughs). The one tip I want to give to people who want to make their parents support them is to involve them in every step of their actions. It helped me and now I am doing good my father himself calls me and asks why I am not doing this because other people are doing so (laughs)
How satisfied are you with your life on a scale of 1 to 10 and why?
I will say 10 because I am fully satisfied and grateful for all the success I have received till now. Goals are something that keeps getting added in life and being satisfied is something very internal. I'm happy I have enough. I have good health, and I’m married to the love of my life which makes my life amazing. (smiles)...so yeah 10
What is the advice you want to give to young people?
Taking the first step is always hard so don’t get discouraged. Also, there are two ways to get a good following. If you have money and don’t want to waste time and wait, use the services of other people who have achieved it. and if you want to slowly establish yourself, post quality content daily.
Describe your life in one sentence.
Life is unpredictable. It is full of adventure, ups and downs like a roller coaster. Cherish every moment. Be prepared for the worst.
What is the one piece of advice you want to give your younger self?
From childhood we always heard that it’s okay to make mistakes, you learn from that- which I changed to Don't leave any scope of making mistakes. Do your calculations before doing anything. - And I learnt it from my husband.
What is your one cherished memory?
Getting married to the love of my life. (smile).
